Abiola Idowu, born to a traditional Yoruba family in Nigeria, has lived an artistic journey spanning continents. During his years of formal art education at the University of Lagos and Ahmadu Bello University, Abiola's creative talents flourished. His passion led him to a residency program in Kenya, expanding his artistic horizons. During the past 20+ years, Abiola's immense talent has been acknowledged by several international awards in painting and sculpture.
In 2015, he made a pivotal move to the United States, where he began working with bronze, adding a new dimension to his work. Since 2018 he has lived in Brampton, ON where the community celebrates his artistic contributions. His portfolio includes several permanent public art installations and compelling solo exhibitions, which captivate audiences with beautiful and thought-provoking creations.
Abiola's art seamlessly merges his Yoruba roots with a global perspective, addressing themes of identity, community, and self actualization.
